Reinhold Messner and his third film as director

On 8 May 1978 Reinhold Messner and Peter Habeler became the first to reach the summit of Mount Everest without the use of supplemental oxygen. A revolution! Now Reinhold Messner is working on a film about the ascent made forty years ago. The original film material from 1978 is being combined with footage with re-enacted scenes. That required a week of filming on the Ortler near Sulden in South Tyrol. The film is due to be broadcast in May 2018. Definitely something to look forward to!
